Business Meetings
The club holds a business meeting on the first Wednesday of each month. This meeting is usually held at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center starting at 8:30 pm. The meeting may occasionally be moved to another location such as Olin-Turville Park leading up to the Great Taste. In these instances it will be announced and directions will be posted to the email list. The club tries to structure the business meetings by following a subset of Roberts Rules of Order, and by setting and publishing an official agenda. The agenda for the meeting is published on the email list so it is available to all members. Placing a topic on the agenda consists of contacting the President, usually by email, and making a request. The President has control of the agenda and has the authority to set time limits for discussion of agenda items. Club business meeting minutes are posted to the email list and can also be found on the club website.
Social Meetings
The club also meets socially on the second and fourth (and possibly fifth) Wednesdays of each month. Check the calendar for the time and location. To encourage broadening your experience the club subsidizes up to three beers at each meeting by paying part of the cost per beer. Don’t forget to tip your bartender.
Board of Directors Meetings
The club’s elected Board of Directors (BOD) holds a meeting on the last Wednesday of each month. Check the calendar for time and location. The board structures the BOD meetings by following a subset of Roberts Rules of Order, and by setting and publishing an official agenda. The agenda for the meeting is published on the mailing list so it is available to all members. The BOD meeting is open to all members, but members are only allowed to address the board during the “comments by members” portion of the agenda, which is near the beginning of the meeting. Meeting minutes from the BOD meetings are posted to the announce mailing list.
Beer School
The third Wednesday of each month is beer school at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center. Check the calendar for more details.
Stammtisch
The Second Thursday of each month we meet at Wisconsin Brewing Company in Verona and try each of our own homebrews. We talk about different ways to brew. We also have discussions of styles of beer, and then we work on brewing that style at home.
