I’ll be in downtown Chicago this weekend and looking to try out some of the smaller breweries/pubs. But I don’t want one with 10 different IPAs either – just good classic styles. Any recommendation?

Depending on how close to downtown you want,

    Metropolitan (http://metrobrewing.com/) for German styles.
    Band of Bohemia (http://www.bandofbohemia.com/), a Michelin-starred brewpub.
Moody Tongue (https://www.moodytongue.com/home), culinary inspired beers.
Forbidden Root (http://forbiddenroot.com/), botanical inspired beers (Randy Mosher involvement).
On Tour Brewing (https://ontourbrewing.com/), new place that sounds interesting that I haven’t been to yet.

Thanks Peter. Band of Bohemia’s beers sound pretty neat.

Know anything about Vice District? I’m liking their tap list.

It’s been around for about 4, but I haven’t been there.

From their web site it looks fairly standard.

Contact Keith directly; he’s been to more of the random Chicago places than I have.
